The spread of ISIS is the biggest setback for Trump and the international coalition in Syria. After a video was leaked showing the ISIS flag being raised at the entrance to the Syrian city of Raqqa, the location where the flag was raised was confirmed by a member of the organization. This occurred after thousands of ISIS members escaped from al-Shaddadi prison in Raqqa. This mass escape took place after the forces of al-Julani (al-Qaeda) entered Raqqa, bringing the city under al-Julani’s control. The location is the entrance to the town of al-Karama in the Raqqa countryside. To confirm this, we have included a picture of the roundabout built by the Autonomous Administration, which is also visible in the video.
Conclusion: The video is new and from the town of al-Karama, Raqqa. ISIS has returned to Raqqa, in full view of the American forces, who ignored the SDF’s call for action. This is the biggest setback for the international coalition and the Trump administration in Syria.
