2020 U.S.-Taliban Doha Agreement
Despite the 2020 U.S.-Taliban Doha Agreement, which aimed to prevent international jihadists, including al-Qaeda, from using Afghan soil to threaten the United States and its allies, the momentum of Taliban and al-Qaeda jihadist forces in the Middle East only strengthened.
The world witnessed American forces fleeing Afghanistan. Contrary to global expectations, the United States, focused on escaping the Afghan quagmire, rather they failed to dismantle al-Qaeda and Taliban forces.

Several clashes occurred between al-Qaeda’s Jabhat al-Nusra and the Lebanese army, resulting in the deaths of multiple Lebanese soldiers.
