Italy restricts mosque funding and bans burqas and niqabs in public places

Italy introduced new ban’s law prohibits the wearing of garments covering the face in all public spaces, including shops, schools, and offices.

Anyone who violates this law will face a fine of €300 to €3,000. The new law includes focused on increased penalties for forced marriages and requirements that the religious groups not registered officially disclose any foreign funding. Until now, there is no comment from The Union of Islamic Communities of Italy.

This law inspirated from France, the first European country, who introduced such a ban’s law in 2011. Also, Denmark, Switzerland which has introduced the same law.
