The X Minority team in Syria investigated systematic corruption operations led by a group that relocated from Idlib in northwestern Syria to Damascus with the fall of Assad.
This group was one of the largest mafias of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, engaging in all forms of extortion and bargaining, in addition to drug and arms trafficking.

In the coast, they oversaw the implementation of extortion operations worth millions of dollars, in addition to extortions imposed on Christians estimated at hundreds of thousands of dollars.
