How will Sweden ban cash money?
There is a heated debate in Sweden regarding cash. One group believes that digitalization is inevitable. Another group argues that cash has a vital role in society, especially during crises or wars, and for the elderly who haven’t kept up with technological advancements.
Therefore, it’s essential to provide a means for these individuals to pay bills and purchase food and medicine.
It’s worth noting that most ATMs are currently out of service in many parts of Sweden. Some believe this is a conspiracy orchestrated by the Swedish government outside the law. Where it proceeded to disable hundreds of ATMs.
The government may introduce a new cash law in Sweden. The government wants to penalize the transfer of large sums of cash from Sweden to other EU countries, as well as their entry into Sweden.
The proposed new law would require anyone planning to take large sums of cash out of the country to report them to Swedish Customs in advance.
Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson (Conservative Party) told Swedish Radio:”We have significant problems with money laundering and smuggling, which are part of serious criminal activity in Sweden. If we want to eradicate them, which we have decided to do, we must also commit to reporting.”
