Do Taxpayers Fund Wars and Terror?
Despite the ongoing conflict between Russia and Europe, and the war in Ukraine, which has cost European and American taxpayers billions of dollars and euros, people’s lives have been made increasingly difficult.
We are witnessing a dark comedy—both laughable and tragic—where citizens pay the price for political manipulation twice over. I won’t delve into the debate over political corruption. However, taxpayers contribute through taxes, only to pay again through their livelihoods, as tax revenues flow into coffers that fuel chaos, prolong wars, and even support terrorist organizations. This has led to thousands of deaths and injuries and a demographic shift in Europe favoring its adversaries.
To be clear, we are not referring to genuine migrants or refugees.
Two paradoxes emerge:
The first is that tax money, ostensibly allocated to support democracy projects worldwide through grants and financial packages, often ends up in the hands of war profiteers.
The second, and greater, paradox is that tax money is now directly funding organizations designated as international terrorist groups.
As part of ongoing investigations, it is critical to ask direct questions about the fate of taxpayers’ money and tax revenues.
In correspondence with the European Commission, the head of investigative journalism at X Minority posed several questions, including:
A few days ago, an advisor to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in Damascus issued an indirect threat, brandishing the “foreign fighters” card. It has been proven that these fighters were brought to Syria by Al-Qaeda.
Given that the EU Commission plans to grant hundreds of millions of euros to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, the ruling group in Syria and an affiliate of Al-Qaeda—. Both designated as international terrorist organizations by UN Security Council resolutions.
One Question was: How will the European Union ensure that European taxpayer funds are not used to support the activities of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham?
We thank the Europe Commission for its response, though it was insufficient to clarify the matter for taxpayers. However, we will not include it in this article, as we are still receiving correspondence on this issue.
