The Arab tribes in the east of the Euphrates in Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa (14 tribes) announced their support and joining the Kurdish alliance SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces).
The statement read:
We, the Arabic tribes (Al-Shaitat, Al-Dumaim, Al-Bu Hamdan, Al-Bukhatir, Al-Badaan, Al-Barih, Al-Boubatran, Al-Marsouma, Al-Hassouna, Al-Rawiya, Al-Mushahidah, Al-Dulaim, Al-Marashda, and all the tribes in the eastern region… we declare that we are with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) with heart and soul, because they sacrificed to liberate us from ISIS.
This is an unexpected step that undermines the transitional authority’s efforts to unify eastern Syria which is under control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
