A new war drums are beating in Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon.
Suspicious movements by the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah, linked to Iran, have been observed near the Syrian-Lebanese border in the Homs region.
There have also been troop buildups by Iraqi Shiite militiasโmost likely the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), including the Iranian-backed Fatemiyoun Brigadeโnear the border town of al-Bukamal in Deir ez-Zor province, eastern Syria.
These military movements come after the Syrian interim government mobilized military battalions along the Syrian-Lebanese border.
This movmenr came after the US President Trump has repeatedly stated his demand that Ahmed al-Sharaa, head of the Syrian interim government, enter Lebanese territory and fight Hezbollah within Lebanon.
Iraqi Shiite factions have warned al-Sharaa’s interim government against entering Lebanon, stating that it would mean a full-scale war across the Middle East.
