A cleric associated with Al-Qaeda in Syria—known as Sheikh Al-Dhahabi, an associate snd closer fiend to Abu Mohammad al-Julani ( currently Ahmed al-Sharaa)—celebrated the anniversary of one of the major terrorist acts carried out by Al-Qaeda against the World Trade Center in New York, an attack that claimed the lives of 3,000 Americans.
Sheikh Al-Dhahabi established a grassroots following with the approval of the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) authority—which holds sway in the region—and with the blessing of the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and the Sharia Council based in the Presidential Palace in Damascus; it is this council that manages the Syrian landscape.
As known, Tom Barrack and the British Foreign Office support this Al-Qaeda-linked authority, and it remains unclear whether President Trump is aware of what is goin on. This raises a major question: Are US and British intelligence agencies providing misleading information to the White House?
It is evident that Israel is fully aware of the situation and is attempting to protect itself from jihadist factions in southern Syria. It is worth recalling that Abu Mohammad al-Julani (Ahmed al-Sharaa) has issued veiled threats against Israel. Furthermore, all documents and evidence gathered over the past 13 years indicate that the Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Nusra Front—now known as Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham—has not abandoned its terrorist ideology; indeed, all information points to the existence of sleeper cells in Syria and Europe linked to HTS that could perpetrate catastrophic attacks in the future.
