A verified link to a WhatsApp channel has been leaked. The channel belongs to an Islamist faction called “Minbar Ansar al-Rasoul” (Supporters of the Prophet).
On the channel, they announced their intention to bomb Christian and Druze areas. The Islamist faction claimed responsibility for yesterday’s bombing, which resulted in 14 casualties, including deaths and injuries.
In the same context, the Syrian interim Interior Minister called on the people to stand behind the “leadership” and said that the bombings would increase Syrian unity.
However, Interior Minister Anas Khattab did not mention the Islamist faction—known to Syrian security agencies—which is affiliated with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.
It is worth noting that Islamist jihadists are widespread in Syria, especially after security forces released hundreds of ISIS members from detention centers in Raqqa and east of the Euphrates.
It is also worth noting that an internal conflict is escalating within Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, which controls power in Syria with British support.
