Rome Odunze shares Bears HC Ben Johnson's vision for the offense

It was well-known what Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson wanted to do this season — he wanted to be the highest-scoring offense in NFL history.
After scoring 59 points in the season opener against the Carolina Panthers, Chicago seems well on their way to doing just that. However, according to receiver Rome Odunze, Johnson is still making sure the offense pays attention to the little details so they can continue to improve each and every week.
“The head of the snake in Ben Johnson says he wants be the most prolific offense in history,” Odunze said. “So, it takes those attention to details even when you score 59 points, harping on those things that you can improve on to get to that point. So, we’re all bought into that and we’re all trying to accomplish that. So, regardless of the points on the board, it’s about our individual execution every single play.”
Odunze’s play of the game came on a 47-yard grab where he completely mossed Carolina defender Will Lee III, which ultimately set up a one-yard touchdown run from running back D’Andre Swift to give the Bears a 14-7 lead in the first quarter. However, he only caught the ball one other time the entire game.
No one could have expected Kalif Raymond to be the leading receiver with eight receptions for 84 yards. This further supports Ben Johnson’s vision because opposing defenses cannot shut down one or two playmakers for Chicago. Every skill player on the field is a threat to score a touchdown.
Chicago’s next game against the Minnesota Vikings will be a bigger test for this offense. Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores is not known for giving up a lot of points to opposing offenses and they shut the Green Bay Packers down in the fourth quarter of their season opener. 
The most points the Bears have scored against Minnesota in the 129 times they have played each other is 52 points back in 1961; it is the only time Chicago has scored at least 50 points against the Vikings. If the Bears offense play like they did against Carolina in this game, that record could be broken this coming Sunday.
