Bears QB Caleb Williams reportedly has Grade 2 hamstring injury and could be sidelined for a month

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has a Grade 2 hamstring injury and could potentially be out up to a month, ESPN reported.
Williams injured his hamstring near the end of the Bears’ loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2.
The estimated timeline for a Grade 2 hamstring injury is three-to-four weeks, though Williams is determined to be back sooner, ESPN reported.
The Bears have called Williams only “week-to-week.” He is out for their Week 3 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Backup QB Tyson Bagent is in concussion protocol and has not yet been cleared to play. Case Keenum could start against the Eagles in their place.
Bears coach Ben Johnson initially told reporters that the news on Williams’ injury was “somewhat encouraging.” He also acknowledged that Williams is “likely to miss some time.”
ESPN reported that the Bears “have tried to keep the extent of his injury under wraps for competitive-purpose advantages.”
“This guy’s a little bit different than the average human being,” Johnson told reporters earlier this week. “I said that last night, I’ll double down on that. He gets back — he has in the past — a lot faster than what people can anticipate, and so I’m not putting a timeline on this. We’re going to say week-to-week. He’s going to attack this with everything that he knows.”
