Should the Seahawks consider trading for RB Saquon Barkley?

The Seattle Seahawks are paying for deciding to not re-sign Kenneth Walker III this past offseason. The offense is currently playing musical chairs at the running back position. If GM John Schneider is willing to trade for a solution, could Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley emerge as a potential target?
The Seahawks are a middling rushing unit. They currently rank outside the top 10. Meanwhile, Walker is leading the entire league in rushing.
Rookie Jadarian Price is on IR and had ball security issues before getting injured. Zach Charbonnet is preparing to make his 2026 debut after recently returning to practice. Emanuel Wilson has been the most consistent ball carrier in the Seahawks’ backfield.
The Eagles just traded offensive lineman Cam Jurgens to the Baltimore Ravens for a draft pick. They also lost All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson to a midseason retirement. Perhaps the Eagles are willing to trade more assets for draft capital.
It’d qualify as surprising if the Eagles were willing to trade Barkley. It’s worth placing a call if you’re Schneider because they just traded a 27-year-old lineman with multiple years left on his contract. There could be a firesale coming in Philadelphia.
Barkley is signed through 2028, but his contract qualifies as team-friendly. The Eagles would be able to trade him while incurring minimal financial penalties. Acquiring Barkley would totally solve the Seahawks’ rushing woes, and the Jurgens trade should convince Schneider to place a call.
