What a debut!
On the same night the rival-New York Knicks received their championship rings, the new look Philadelphia 76ers silenced the crowd at Madison Square Garden with an impressive win thanks to stellar debut performances by LeBron James and Jaylen.
Check out the highlights below.
Did the Sixers win?
The Sixers put a damper on Knicks ring night, with a 106-100 win to open the 2026-2027 NBA season.
All-NBA guard Tyrese Maxey led the way for the Sixers leading all scores with 28 points while adding five assists, four rebounds and three steals and blocks a piece.
In their debuts, James and Brown filled the stat sheet with 14 points, nine rebounds and seven assists and 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists, respectively.
Former MVP Joel Embiid was quiet offensively with only 13 points, but collected 11 rebounds and provided much needed rim protection.
Off the bench, newly-acquired guard Anfernee Simons had 13 points while forward Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 10 points.
