Ric Flair is recovering in the hospital after a fall outside a restaurant in Florida.
The retired WWE legend, 77, was injured in a fall outside Wagamama in Tampa on Friday, Oct. 23, TMZ reported. The incident occurred hours after Flair revealed on Instagram that an upcoming appearance was being canceled due to a blood clot in his leg.
In photos obtained by TMZ, Flair is seen lying on his back while surrounded by medical staff. He is also pictured being transported into an ambulance.
Flair left his phone and drink behind as he walked across the street after visiting the restaurant that morning, per the outlet. He reportedly cut his head in the fall and his eye was “bleeding extensively.”

Flair’s daughter, WWE wrestler Charlotte Flair, shared an update on his condition in a post on X on Saturday, Oct. 24.
“Not my dad telling the doctor he fell bc of warrior dropping him on his head … (ps: he’s going to be ok),” she wrote.
The wrestling legend had shared a lengthy post about his health, hours before he fell.
“I want to sincerely apologize to my agent, Steve Solomon … and especially all my fans in Seattle for having to cancel my scheduled appearance,” said Flair. “Unfortunately, I am dealing with a blood clot in my leg, and my doctors have limited my travel to 3–4 hours. Seattle falls outside that range, and as disappointed as I am, I have to put my health and recovery first.”
“Blood clots are extremely serious and can be life-threatening. We have seen this recently with Jalen Hurts and the complications involving blood clots in his lungs,” he continued. “It is a reminder that this is not something to take lightly, and I must follow medical advice.”

Flair said that he is scheduled to undergo a procedure “to strip the affected vein,” which will hopefully allow him to travel more and continue with his work commitments.
“Please know this decision was not made lightly. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment, and I am incredibly grateful for your patience, understanding, and continued support,” he concluded.
Flair has had numerous health issues throughout the years.
In June 2025, the former wrestling star revealed to PEOPLE he had skin cancer for “the second time in three years.” Flair announced in an Instagram post a month later that he was “cancer-free.”
PEOPLE has reached out to Flair’s representative for comment.
